Jonesville defeats Cowpens 42-14

Image courtesy of Jonesville Elementary/Middle School The Jonesville Middle School Football Team defeated Cowpens 42-14 Thursday evening while the Jonesville Middle School Girls Volleyball Team fell Tuesday to Campobello but came back Wednesday to defeat High Point.


JONESVILLE — The Jonesville Middle School Football Team took the field against Cowpens Thursday evening and when it was over they’d won 42-14

Coach John Voiselle announced the results of Thursday’s game, stating that Wildcats Jabryson Hunter and Evan Threadgill led the way offensively while fellow Wildcats Caleb Bright, Branson Cook, and Jaden Peterson led the Jonesville defense.

Voiselle also announced the following stats for Thursday’s game:

Rushing

Jabryson Hunter and Evan Threadgill dominated the defense, leading the running game for Jonesville.

Passing

Jabryson Hunter — 4/6 Passing

Receiving

Jaden Peterson caught 1/15. CJ Brannon caught 1/8. Branson Cook caught 1/30. Caleb Bright caught 1/4.

Defense

• Caleb Bright — 3 sacks

• Jace Anderson — 1 sack

“Our guys have worked hard in the off season, Voiselle said. “They came out today with a lot of heart and played their tails off. So proud of them.”

Schedule

The Wildcats travel to Ewing Thursday, Sept. 14 for a 7 p.m. game at the Old Reservation in Gaffney. The team’s schedule also includes the following games on the following dates:

• Thursday, Sept. 21 hosting Blacksburg

• Thursday, Sept. 28 at Campobello

• Thursday, Oct. 12 at EP Todd

• Thursday, Oct. 19 at Landrum

• Thursday, Oct. 26 at Pacolet

All games are scheduled to be played at 5 p.m.

Volleyball

This week was also a busy one for the Jonesville Middle School Girls Volleyball which played two games, losing the first, but coming back to win the second.

Voiselle announced that the team fell to Campobello 3-0 in Tuesday’s game but came Wednesday to beat High Point 3-0. With this week’s loss and victory, the Lady Wildcats are 1-1 for the season.

The Top 4 teams of each conference will make the playoff; cross bracket for tournament. Semi-finals will be played Saturday, Oct 14 at Cowpens; have to be concluded by Tuesday, Oct 17.
