JONESVILLE — The Wildcat Jamboree scheduled to be held this afternoon at Jonesville Elementary/Middle School has been cancelled.

The Jamboree was scheduled to get under way today at 4:15 p.m. with a game format that would feature special teams and referees, 8-minute quarters, and the following games:

• Cowpens Middle (Away) vs Sims Middle (Home) — First Half

• Pacolet Middle (Away) vs Jonesville Middle (Home) — Second Half

In a statement released this morning, however, JEMS Atheltic Director Jay Voiselle announced that “due to predicted weather conditions and the numerous contacts that need to be made prior to the event, our jamboree is unfortunately and officially cancelled.”

Voiselle thanked “Cowpens, Sims, Pacolet, FCA and Charlie Childers, WBCU, Holcombe Funeral Home, The Union Times, Union County News, Union/Jonesville EMS, Doc Lipsey, Principal Kathy Taylor, Jonesville PTO, Jennifer Jansen, Mark Ireton and WIll Hickson for committing to be a part of this event. Hope I didn’t leave anyone out!

While the Jamboree was cancelled, Voiselle said that “Jonesville football will still practice/film room at the regular time today.”
