District Governor honors Rotarians

UNION — The Rotary Club of Union recently had a very special visitor who honored some very special Rotarians.

In a statement released earlier this month, the Rotary Club of Union announced that it had been visited by Rotary District Governor (District 7750) Ed Irick during its weekly meeting in the Covenant Baptist Church Social Hall. The press release states that during his visit Irick did the following:

• Gave the club the new Rotary International them banner — “Rotary: Making A Difference.”

• Presented Rotarian Bill Graham with a plaque honoring him for his 50 years of dedication to the Rotary Club of Union and his 50 years of perfect attendance. The press release states that “Bill an amazing example of the Rotary motto: Service Above Self!”

• Recognized six Rotarians as “Paul Harris Fellow Plus” members. The press release states that “to be recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow, you must contribute $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation. PHF Plus (PHF+) are Rotarians who have given more than $1,000.” The Rotarian recognized as PHF+ members are Torance Inman (+2), Robert Guess (+2), Lynn Mornane (+1), Frank M. Hart (+4), Charles “Buddy” Smith (+5), Neil Howell (+1), and Annie Smith (+1).
