UNION — Children who want to take part in the “Union SC Rocks” adventure need rocks to paint and place around the county and that’s why there’s a basket full of them on the front porch of The Union Times.

The Union SC Rocks adventure is a family-friendly activity that involves participants painting rocks with the colors, words, and images of their choice, placing them at locations around Union County, photographing them, and posting the photo on Facebook with clues as to their location.

Union SC Rocks has captured the imagination of hundreds of families in Union County who are painting and placing rocks, searching for others and, when finding them, posting the results of their search. While some then keep the rocks they’ve found, other participants take them to other locations, placing and photographing them there and then placing the photo on Facebook along with clues to continue the adventure.

The Union Times is doing its part to help by placing a basket full of rocks on our front porch for families with children to come and get, paint and place as part of the Union SC Rocks adventure.

A sign placed next to the basket states that “These rocks need homes. Free to all children. Please take a few but leave some for others. Thanks.”

So come on over to The Union Times office at 201 North Herndon Street, Union, pick up a few rocks and take part in the ongoing adventure that is Union SC Rocks.
