SPARTANBURG — Two Union County area residents are among the more than 300 students to receive degrees from Wofford College this year.

In a statement released last week Wofford College announced that it had conferred degrees to 367 graduates at the 163rd Commencement Exercises on Sunday, May 21, 2017. Those receiving degrees included:

• Wyatt Howard Dodson received a bachelor of arts degree in business economics. Dodson is from Pacolet.

• Channin Marie Pettit received a bachelor of arts degree in theatre. Pettit is from Pauline.

Dean’s List

Three other area residents are among the student’s named to the college’s Dean’s List.

In a statement also released last week, Dr. Michael J. Sosulski, Provost of Wofford College, announced Dean’s List students for the Spring 2017 semester. Those on the Dean’s List include:

• Lee Thomas Holden from Pacolet.

• Holly Caroline Raines from Pacolet.

• Leah Camastra Wilson from Union.

Wofford College, established in 1854, is a four-year, residential liberal arts college located in Spartanburg, S.C. It offers 26 major fields of study to a student body of 1,650 undergraduates. Nationally known for the strength of its academic program, outstanding faculty, study abroad participation and successful graduates, Wofford is home to one of the nation’s 283 Phi Beta Kappa chapters. The college community enjoys Greek Life as well as 19 NCAA Division I athletics teams.
