UNION COUNTY — A Dixie Youth team won not one, but two championships this year, winning the first without a single loss during the regular season and the second with only one loss during a tournament.

The Kingsmore Construction Baseball Team is in the Minors League of Union County Dixie Youth. The team was undefeated during the entire regular season, an achievement that won them the Season Championship.

As if that wasn’t enough, the team went on to compete in the City Championship Tournament, losing only one game in the process. That one defeat, however, did not prevent the team from advancing to the June 2 doubleheader for the City Championship that saw Kingsmore Construction go up first against Edward’s Tax in a game that saw the team emerge with an 11-5 win.

That victory enabled the team to advance to the final game of the tournament against Jimmy’s Galaxy. The championship game began at 7:15 p.m. with no time limit. The game lasted 2 1/2 hours and wasn’t decided until the final inning when Kingsmore Construction emerged victorious with a final score of 9-7.
