UNION — The Union Music Club has selected Carmen Sliwa to be the 2017 recipient of The Boinest Morgan Medal for excellence in piano study.

This medal is awarded annually in memory of Mrs. Genie Boinest Morgan, who had a wonderful reputation for teaching piano in Union.

Carmen, the daughter of Gregory and Elaine Peake, is a ninth grader at Union County High School. Carmen is a member of the Beta Club and recently auditioned for and was accepted in the Gifted and Talented Music Class. She played viola in the school orchestra from 5th grade through 7th grade.
