‘Story Walk on Main’ Wednesday

Courtesy image A “Story Walk on Main” will take place Wednesday, May 24 at 4 p.m. starting at the USC Union bookstore. Bring the whole family and stroll down Main Street while reading “It takes a Village” by Jane Cowen-Fletcher which will be displayed in the store windows. Every child/family will receive a free book from the Friends of the Library at their bookstore.

Summer Reading

Summer Reading begins on June 5! Register online at unionlibsc.readsquared.com to earn points and win prizes.

Drop by the library on the 5th for our LEGO® Kickoff Challenge, and join us for the first Movies Under the Stars event that evening at 8 p.m. Bring the whole family, a picnic blanket, and enjoy the night sky while watching Sing (PG).

Trustees Meet

The Board of Trustees will have a called meeting on Thursday, May 25 at 1 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.

Memorial Day

The library will be closed for Memorial Day, May 27 and 29. The library will reopen on May 30 at 9 a.m.

May Is Senior Adult Month

Seniors 70+ can enter to win a lighted magnifying glass during May! Entry forms will be at the front desk of the library and drawings will be each Friday at 10 a.m. during May. The date of the last drawing is 5/26/17. Two magnifying glasses will be awarded each week. Previous winners are Juanita Fowler, Brenda Going, Jesse Smith and Allen Andrews.

Resume′ Help

Resume′ help will be held at the library (sponsored by SC Works) monthly on the 3rd Friday from 4-5 p.m. The current date is June 6.

Restoration Brick Project

The Friends of the Union County Library are pleased to offer the Union County residents an opportunity to participate in a unique engraved brick project. The proceeds of this project will go to the library renovation. Engraved bricks may be purchased as a way to honor family members, friends, organizations, and special groups. These beautiful memorials will be placed in a walkway of honor on the library grounds. Please stop by or contact the library for additional information.
