Book Signing

Meet local author Melody Porter at noon on Saturday, May 20! Melody was featured in March at the USC Union Upcountry Literary Festival, and will be signing copies of her books in the library.

Story Walk On Main

Did you know? There will be a Story Walk on Main on May 24 at 4 p.m. which will start at the USC Union Bookstore. Bring the whole family and stroll down Main Street while reading “It takes a Village” by Jane Cowen-Fletcher which will be displayed in the store windows. Every child/family will receive a free book from the Friends of the Library at their bookstore.

Memorial Day

The library will be closed for Memorial Day, May 27 and 29. The library will reopen on May 30 at 9 a.m.

Senior Adult Month

May is Senior Adult Month and Seniors 70+ can enter to win a lighted magnifying glass during May! Entry forms will be at the front desk of the library and drawings will be each Friday at 10 a.m. during May. The dates of the drawings are Friday, May 19 and Friday, May 26. Two magnifying glasses will be awarded each week.

Resume Help

Resume help will be held at the library (sponsored by SC Works) monthly on the 3rd Friday from 4-5 p.m. Current dates are Friday, May 9 and Friday, June 16.

Restoration Brick Project

The Friends of the Union County Library are pleased to offer the Union County residents an opportunity to participate in a unique engraved brick project. The proceeds of this project will go to the library renovation. Engraved bricks may be purchased as a way to honor family members, friends, organizations, and special groups. These beautiful memorials will be placed in a walkway of honor on the library grounds. Please stop by or contact the library for additional information.
