UNION COUNTY — A high school student who has been named an outstanding pitcher and is part of a state championship team has signed to play with the USC Union Bantams Baseball Team.

In a statement released Thursday, Bantams Baseball Coach Jap Worthy announced that Gabe Hall, a senior at McBee High School, had signed to play for the Bantams earlier in the day.

“He pitches and plays middle infield and was on the reigning state championship team at McBee High School,” Worthy said. “In 2016, he won Most Outstanding Pitcher in the Junior Legion State Tournament.”

As a member of the Bantams, Worthy said that Hall will be pitcher, shortstop, and second baseman.

Worthy added that Hall is a “Life Scholarship recipient” and therefore “will be an asset in the classroom as well as on the field.”

Worthy also announced that the Bantams’ full schedule of practices and games for the 2017-2018 school year will get under way in August with the team playing in NJCAA Division I Region 10.
