Week 2, however, saw the teams of the Machine Pitch Juniors, Minor, and O’Zone leagues take to the field to give their fans plenty of great baseball action.

UNION COUNTY — The Dixie Youth Baseball Season was delayed somewhat this month when weather prevented teams from taking to the field in Week 1 but they more than made up for it with plenty of baseball action in Week 2.

The Dixie Youth Baseball Season got under way Saturday, April 1 with all 32 teams of the five Dixie Youth leagues taking to the field at Timken Sports Complex for an afternoon of baseball action that got the season off to a great start.

Things, however, didn’t go quite as well in the week that followed.

Dixie Youth/Dixie Boys Secretary Kelly Small said Tuesday that “Week 1 was completely rained out and will be made up later in this season.”

While Week 1 was rained out, that wasn’t case for Week 2 which saw the Dixie Youth teams of the Machine Pitch Seniors, Minor, and O’Zone leagues return to the field for a week of baseball action.
