UNION — The new Executive Director of the Union County Chamber of Commerce brings to the position years of experience in economic development and non-profit activities.
In a statement released Friday, the Union County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directosr stated that it was “pleased to announce that Jami D. Trammell has been selected as their new Executive Director.”
The press release states that Trammell “will be responsible for reorganizing the Union County Chamber of Commerce to be more in line with what best suits the needs of the community and local business.”
In announcing Trammell’s appointment, Board President Scott Sandor said “we are very pleased to welcome Jami as the new Executive Director. The selection committee unanimously selected her for the position and we are delighted that she accepted. She has extensive knowledge and background in marketing, fundraising, economic development and a passion for Union County.”
The press release states that Trammell “comes to us from the Union County Development Board, where she was the assistant to the Executive Director. We feel that this position has prepared her to lead the new vision that is the Union County Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Trammell has also worked diligently with nonprofits such as Meals on Wheels of Union County and The Uniquely Union Festival in a fundraising capacity. She is also a member of the Bonham Fire Board of Directors.”
The press releases states that Trammell “received her degree in business administration from Limestone University. She completed the South Carolina Economic Development Institute in 2011 and Best Practices for Local Economic Development Professionals in 2014 at Clemson University.”
The office of Chamber Executive Director has been vacant since the retirement of former executive director Torance Inman at the end of 2016.
Sandor said that Trammell is expected to take up her duties as Chamber Executive Director on April 3.
