BUFFALO — A Buffalo teen has been selected to compete in the 2017 Miss Jr. Teen pageant.

In a statement released earlier this month, the Miss Jr. Teen Pageant announced that Holeigh Harris of Buffalo had been selected to participate in the 2017 Miss Jr. Teen pageant that will be held Sunday, March 19 at 4:30 p.m. in the McGirt Auditorium in Rock Hill. The press release states that Harris learned of her acceptance into this year’s competition when the pageant announced its selections following interviews in the local area. It further states that Harris submitted an application and participated in her interview session which was conducted by this year’s Pageant Coordinator.

The press release states that of the four age divisions including young ladies ages 7-20, Harris will compete in the Miss Jr. Teen division. It further states that in each of these divisions, contestants compete in modeling routines including casual wear and formal wear. It also states that Harris will display her personality while interviewing with this year’s judging panel. In each phase of the competition, the panel uses personality as the number one criteria for judging.

As a contestant, the press release states Harris will be competing for her share of thousands of dollars in prizes and specialty gifts distributed to the contestants.

If Harris wins the title of Miss Jr. Teen, the press release states she will represent her community at the National Pageant taking place in Orlando, Florida. Each winner receives an expense paid trip to Orland for six days and five nights. At the National Competition, contestants from around the nation compete for their share of over $30,000 in prizes.

The press release states that community businesses, organizations, and private individuals will assist Harris in participating in this year’s competition by becoming an official sponsor for her. Through sponsorship, each contestant receives all the necessary training, rehearsals, and financial support which will allow Harris the confidence and preparation for this year’s Preliminary Pageant.

Any business, organization, or private individual interested in becoming a sponsor to Holeigh Harris may contact the Miss Teen Jr. Pageant Coordinator at 1-877-910-4190.
