UNION — On March 4, 2017 the University of South Carolina Union will host the Miss USC Union Pageant in the auditorium at 7 p.m. The pageant is a community service project and also provides scholarships for the queen, as well as first and second runner-ups. Proceeds from this pageant will benefit the local Alzheimer’s Association. The USC Union University 101 classes have raised more than $16,000 towards finding a cure for Alzheimer’s since 2011.
This year’s theme is “Diamond and Pearls” and will showcase thirteen lovely and talented contestants: Maddy Anderson (North Augusta, SC), Kelsey Boatwright (Graniteville, SC), Carly Chavis (Warrenville, SC), Savannah England (Union, SC), Azaireion “AJ” Eison (Union, S C), Satardra Hall (Union, SC), Allison Hart (Union, SC), Lea Kershaw (Union, SC), Tori Rochester (Jonesville, SC), Mary Scarborough (Jonesville, SC), Hailey Sherbert (Buffalo, SC), Kailen Wicker (Union, SC) and Delaney Wood (Union, SC).
This year the pageant will have princesses included in the program. These young girls range in age from 5 years of age up to 12 years of age. Our princesses include: Olivia Alovi (Union, SC) Ella Grace Boynton (Pickens, SC), Meadow Caron & Sophia Caron (Liberty, SC), Allison Comer (Lockhart, SC ) Tamia Gordon (Union, SC), Eva Jolly & Sophia Jolly (Union, SC), Anajiah Mayfield (Union, SC), Mara Pilgrim (Greenwood, SC), Graceanna Roberson (Jonesville, SC), Isabella Sumner (Buffalo, SC) and Katie Taylor (Union, SC) .
Co-Emcees for the evening will be Mr. Bill Moore and Mrs. Kaitlyn Wade Pender, Miss USC Union 2012. Lauren Mullis, Miss USC Union 2016 will perform a piano solo and end her year’s reign as queen. Aundi Hunter, The Upstate Director of Development for Alzheimer’s will be in attendance and briefly speak on behalf of the organization.
Admission to the pageant is by ticket only. The tickets are $5 each and can be purchased prior to the pageant from the contestants, or the USC Union Financial Aid Office.
