UNION, SC – Mable Smith Kershaw, 91, 1817 Jonesville Hwy and formerly of 120 Dover Rd., Jonesville, entered eternal rest Friday, Sept. 3, 2010 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.

A native of Union, she was the widow of Columbus Kershaw and the daughter of the late Douglas and Joella Smith.

She was a member of the Bethany AME Church and was retired from Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Willie Lee Smith and two sons, Leroy Kershaw and J. T. Kershaw.

She is survived by four sons, Israel (Inez) Kershaw, Alex (Lorrine) Kershaw, Norris Kershaw, and James (Marilyn) Kershaw; six daughters, Nan (Gregg) Rodgers, Floree Wilks, Doshia (Mike) Talley, Blanche Kershaw, Edna Kershaw, and Joella (Roosevelt) Hardy; two sisters, Lois Crawford and Nannie Means; 31 grandchildren; and a host great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010 at 3 p.m. at Bethany AME Church. Rev. Corinthea Stack will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home, 120 Dover Rd., Jonesville and at the home of her daughter, Joella Hardy, 841 Jerusalem Rd., Pacolet.
