UNION, SC — Mr. Jerry Eugene Adams, 62, husband of Ruth Ann Barnett Adams, 126 Lake Run Rd., Union, passed away, Friday Sept. 3, 2010 at Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg.

Mr. Adams was born in Union, Nov. 6, 1947, a son of the late Robert Smith Adams, Sr. and Thelma Lawson Adams. He was a graduate of Jonesville High School, the University of South Carolina, Union and was employed with Farrell Chevrolet Body Shop. Mr. Adams was retired from the S.C. National Guard and was a member of Mt. Joy Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Elizabeth Adams Winchester and husband Gary of Greenwood; one son, Robert C. Adams and wife Pamela of Woodruff; two grandchildren, Evey Adams and Madison Westmoreland; five sisters, Pearl Farr and husband James, Marian Alexander, Betty Inman, and Mary Ann Adams, all of Union, Bobbie Ruth Snyder of Buffalo; one sister-in-law, Doris Adams of Union.

Mr. Adams was predeceased by a brother, R.S. Adams, Jr.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010 at Mt. Joy Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Alan West. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Alexander, Larry Adams, Tommy Ford, Mike Ford, Lynn Ford and Johnny Inman.

Deacons, members of the Brotherhood and members of the Fellowship Sunday School Class all of Mt. Joy Baptist Church are asked to sit in a group.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

The family is at the home, 126 Lake Run Rd., Union.
