Lady Jackets’ tennis team falls 5-1 to Spartanburg

The Jackets were coming off a second place finish in the Hwy. 221 Eye Opener Tournament last weekend but were not able to bounce back against a talented Vikings team.

Spartanburg defeated the Union County Yellow Jackets girls’ tennis team 5-1 Monday.

Union County picked up its only win in doubles action.

In singles action,

Lauren Harrison lost to Holland 0-6, 0-6.

Kelsey Harrris lost to Taylor 1-6, 0-6.

Kristen Martin lost to Barnette 1-6, 0-6.

Brittany Ledford lost to Eaton 1-6, 1-6.

Adalaide Adamo lost to Zollinger 4-6, 0-6.

In doubles action, Rachel Jones and Dexlie Inman won their match 6-1, 7-5.

The Yellow Jackets next game is scheduled for 5 p.m Thursday at Dorman.
