The Yellow Jackets' freshman football team lost 30-8 vs. Spartanburg Thursday night at Union County High School's track field.

The Jackets only score came from quarterback Matthew Barnett's 44-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Spencer.

Union County is not scheduled to play next Thursday.

Spartanburg picked up its second victory of the night with a 14-0 win vs. Union County's JV squad.

The Yellow Jackets' return game was productive and gave good field position but the offense could not capitalize.

The special teams had three returns for 20 or more yards.

Union County's JV team will travel to Broome next Thursday for a 6 p.m. kickoff.

Look for more on Thursday night's game in Friday's Union Daily Times.
