Mr. Gallman was born in Union, SC March 9, 1928, a son of the late Eugene Gallman and Marie Garner Gallman. He was a graduate of Union High School and was a retired US Navy Veteran having served during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Mr. Gallman also retired from the Charleston Veterans Administration after 28 years of service. He was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Elaine G. Thompson of Union; three special grandchildren, Amber Gibson, Alyssa Kellett and Brandon Kellett, all of Goose Creek; a great nephew, John Houser of Rhode Island; and a sister-in-law, Mary F. Prince and husband Ellic of Whitmire.
Mr. Gallman was predeceased by a sister, Rachel G. Houser and a nephew, Eugene Houser.
Services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2010 at Sardis United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. John Cribb. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Thursday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home.
