Martha’s nominator stated:

• “Martha has a caring and wonderful attitude towards her patients. She is a wonderful preceptor for new employees – as she was mine (nominator’s) when I first came, so I know how good she is. She is a very dedicated hospital employee and has been at Wallace Thomson Hospital for many years.”

• “Martha’s expertise is trusted by the physicians and the ICU staff. She has performed optimally in the roles of charge nurse and as a preceptor for newer staff members.”

• “Martha has shown commitment to her continuing education in critical care nursing and voluntarily maintains her CCRN certification which is a nationally recognized credential that symbolizes excellence in critical care nursing. Martha Gregory is an asset to the Intensive Care Unit as well as Wallace Thomson Hospital.”

The Nurse of the Month is given to one nurse each month who exemplifies excellence and goes above and beyond to deliver excellent patient care. Employees of the Union Hospital District as well as patients and visitors are allowed to vote on this monthly.
