Ridge Spring-Monetta scored on its first possession and would go on to score two more touchdowns in the first quarter of play for a 20-0 lead.
“After the first drive,, they (Ridge Spring-Monetta) didn’t let up. They were gaining five or six yards every carry,” Whitmire assistant coach Chris Martin said.
The Wolverines gave up another score in the second quarter and trailed 27-0 going in to the locker room at halftime.
Whitmire's offense could not put any points on the board vs. the Trojans and managed only 80 total yards. The Wolverines longest play from scrimmage was a 21-yard completion from quarterback Traccey Ruff to wide receiver Doug Inman.
Ruff wore many hats Friday as he handled the punting and kicking duties, was the team’s leading rusher and passer, He was 4-for-14, threw for 47 yards and rushed for another 21 yards.
Thomas Miller was 1-for-7 and threw for seven yards against Ride Spring-Monetta.
Inman led the team with three receptions and 33 yards.
Next week Whitmire hosts a Mid-Carolina team coming off an emotional scrimmage win vs. Union County.
