Mr. Shaw was born in Coffeyville, KS, Sept. 17, 1933 a son of the late Elston and Anna Shaw. He was a graduate of Kansas Community College in Coffeyville and retired as a computer specialist. Mr. Shaw was a veteran of the US Airforce having served during the Korean War and was a member of Bogansville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, William Dean Shaw and wife Brenda of St. Georgia, Utah; a step-daughter whom he loved like a daughter, Elaine Lawson and husband Billy of Jonesville; four grandchildren, William Charles Shaw of Birmingham, AL, Jessica Marie Shaw of St. Georgia, Utah, Mark Lawson of Putman Community and Mia Silver and husband Chad of Roebuck ; his best-friend, Bill Poe of Texas.
He was predeceased by a step-son, Jimmy Morris.
Graveside services with Militay Honors will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday,
Aug. 25, 2010 at Bogansville United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Gary Peterson.
The following are asked to serve as the honorary escort: Joan and Dennis Stevens, Brenda and Ronnie Lawson, Mark Lawson, Jeff Lawson, Michael Lawson, Chad Silvers, Charlie Vinson, Linda Nies, Lori Chastain, Beth Smith, Fredia Fuller and Dr. David Keith.
Visitation will be held after the graveside services in the church fellowship hall.
