The Whitmire Wolverines could not overcome Ridge Spring-Monetta's huge first quarter in regular season action Friday night.

RS-M scored on its first possession and would go on to score two more touchdowns in the first quarter of play for a 20-0 lead.

The Wolverines gave up another score in the second quarter and trailed 27-0 going in to the locker room at halftime.

Whitmire's offense could not put any points on the board vs. the Trojans and managed only 80 total yards. The Wolverines longest play from scrimmage was a 21-yard completion from quarterback Traccey Ruff to wide receiver Doug Inman.

Next week Whitmire hosts a Mid-Carolina team coming off an emotional scrimmage win vs. Union County.

Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday.
