Born in Union, he was the husband of Vickie Gordon Holloman and the son of the late William Harrison “Snooks” Holloman and Sarah Johnson Holloman. He was a 1968 graduate of Gaffney High School and attended Gardner-Webb University. Mr. Holloman was a member of Lavonia Baptist Church in Mooresboro, NC where he was the former minister of music. He was also the former minister of music at Mount Ararat Baptist Church and Beaverdam Baptist Church in Gaffney. He was formerly employed by Hoechst Fibers for 16 years and worked at Holloman’s Body Shop for 20 years. Mr. Holloman was also a sales associate at Widenhouse Motors, Peachtree Ford, Stephenson Ford and former employee of Newark. He was a former member of the original Southern Gospel group “Family Tradition” of Gaffney. He was a U. S. Army veteran and former member of the SC National Guard.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, James Harrison Holloman of Charleston; a sister, Cheryl H. Wolfe and husband, Jack, Jr. of Chapin; three grandchildren, Brandon William Thoms, Gabriela Nicole Holloman and Madison Elisabeth Holloman.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Holloman Thoms.
The family will receive friends from 6- 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010 at West End Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Wright, Rev. Gene Daggerhart and Rev. David Slatton officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
