Warren Carter, 77, 300 Wallace St., Union, and Roudean Rice, 77, 720 Lakeside Drive Apts., Union, were reported missing by family members Friday morning. Carter’s son and Rice’s sister said the two had left Thursday morning to go to Greenville Memorial Hospital where Rice was scheduled to undergo a CT scan. The two, who were traveling in a burgundy four-door early 1970s Olds Catalina with a broken right tail light, had not been heard from since then.
Carter’s son told police his father has early signs of Alzheimers and Rice has heart complications.
The Union Public Safety Department confirmed that Carter and Rice had been at Greenville Memorial but had not communicated with their family since leaving the hospital. The department issued a flier in an attempt to solicit information about the whereabouts of the couple.
1st/Sgt Troy Wright said Friday evening that Carter and Rice had been found on SC 72 in Laurens County. Wright said a Laurens County Sheriff’s deputy spotted their vehicle, stopped it and confirmed it was Carter and Rice. He said the two are fine and were on their way back to Union.
