JONESVILLE — A treat for Jonesville residents is currently in the making.

A committee met Thursday evening to plan for the 11th Annual Jonesville Town Festival. The festival is scheduled to be held on Sept. 18 from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. in downtown Jonesville.

Event chair Doug Humphries listed the names of those who will provide entertainment at the event:

• Oakbrook Community Praise Team

• Big Otis Karaoke

• Seth Whitehead

• Blackberry Wine

• Britney Pridemore

• Jada Mabry

• Eddie Allen

• Cadillac High

• Andre Kerr and The Trick Alley Band

The committee has already signed up 14 vendor spaces for the September event. Those signed up include food, craft and jewelry vendors, as well as political candidates.

Anyone interested in a vendor space should contact Bonnie Waddle at 426-2637 after 5:30 p.m.

The town festival will also feature a car show which will take place on the area of Main Street between Pacolet and Forrest Streets.

There is no entry fee, but the first 15 entries will receive a gift.

Anyone with a muscle car, vintage car or race car is welcome to bring their car and participate. At another section of Main Street — beside Robinson’s Hardware — a motorcycle show will also be held.

Anyone seeking information about the car show portion of the festival should direct questions to Ivey Motorsports at 597-9678.

The event flyers read “Come on out for some good ole fashion family fun!!!” Included in the old-fashioned fun will be pony rides, a street dance, a dunking booth — with participation from the mayor and town council, horse shoes, a greasy pole climb, and a raffle to give away a 42-inch high-definition television.

Humphries stated the committee will also begin selling event T-shirts — with sponsors displayed on the back — in a week and a half.

“Everybody needs to bring a lawn chair and come join us,” Humphries said. “There will be plenty of food to eat and plenty of fun.”
