Thursday night, the Union Dixie Belles loaded the bus and set off for the 2010 World Series in Louisiana. I had a chance to ask the Belles first baseman Cece Morman, a rising 8th grader at Sims Middle School, a few questions before she left.

Q: What is like to win the state tournament?

A: "It was kind of overwhelming. I had a lot of excitement and joy"

Q: What do you expect from your World Series experience?

A: "I hope we go far and even if we don't, it's still good."

Q: Do you know anything about your opponents?

A: "The coaches tell us all of our opponents will be the best teams we've seen because the teams will be the best from their state."

Q: Any pre-game rituals?

A: "I always put my left cleat on first."

Q: What type of bat do you use? Glove?

A: "A (Louisville Slugger) Catalyst bat and a Nike glove"

Q: Who is your hero?

A: "My mom (Monica Foster)"

Q: Who is your sports hero?

A; "Natasha Watley, an Olympic softball player"

Q: What famous person would you like to meet?

A: "Barack Obama"

Q: What other activities do you enjoy?

A: "I enjoy playing basketball and volleyball, too."
