The Union NL All-Stars defeated Dillon 7-0 Wednesday night for a spot in today's championship game. Union will play Surfside Beach at 11 a.m. and will need to beat Surfside Beach twice to become state champions. If needed, the second game will be played at 4:00 p.m in Clemson.

Union needed another strong pitching performance by Franklin "Red" Thompson to come out victorious in last night's elimination game. Thompson threw for 12 strikeouts in a complete game shut out.

"Red came through for us again," head coach John Cheek said.

Thompson helped his cause by adding a single and a triple at the plate.

Ja'Bryon Woods, AJ Hunter, and Shamar Glenn added singles in the state tournament victory.
