SPARTANBURG, SC - Charles Porter, 77, 170 Kensington Dr., Apt. 105 died July 24, 2010.

A native of Union, he was the son of the late Joe and Mary Byrd Porter. He was a 1952 graduate of Sims High School, a member and deacon of St. Paul Baptist Church, and was retired from Winn Dixie. He was an Air Force veteran.

Survivors include one son, Senior Master Sgt Scott Porter of Odenton, MD; two daughters, Sonalia Porter of Union and Andrieanne Porter of Simpsonville; two brothers, Eddie Morman of Union and Rickie Porter of Edgefield; and one granddaughter, Shannon Porter of Jersey City, NY.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church, 645 Old Howard Gap Rd., Spartanburg. Burial will follow in Heritage Memorial Gardens. Rev. Walter Belton will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the home of Shirley Coleman, 321 Willow Oaks, Dr. and at the home of his niece, Linda Thompson, 112 Harris St., Union.
