UNION, SC — Mrs. Betty Jean Young Thompson. 67, widow of Mr. Harold Thompson, 413 Thompson Blvd. Union SC died Sunday morning, July 18, 2010 at her home. She was a daughter of the late Ervin Douglas Young and Willie Mae Jeter Young, A lifetime member of Beatty Chapel A.M.E. Church until her declining health. She was a graduate of Sims High School Class of 1963, and worked at Cedar Hill Plant as an inspector until her declining health.

Survivors include two sons, Harold Dean Thompson of the home and Lafayette (Panthy) Thompson of Harrisburg, NC. two daughters, Della Reese (Arthur Earl) Ferguson of Cincinnati, Ohio. Deargrasure T. (Lewis) McBeth of Union; three sisters, Fannie Mae Means of Union, Elwillie Lindsey of Union, and Annie Ruth Young of Newburgh, New York; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren a host of nephews, nieces, in-laws, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Beattys Chapel A M E church at 11a.m. by the pastor Doris Holmes with burial in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10:00 a.m. to await the hour of service.

Viewing will be held today from noon-8 p.m.
