UNION, SC — Mrs. Andrea Newton Rhymer, 66, Ellen Sager Nursing Home, wife of Don Rhymer, died Saturday, June 26, 2010 after an extended illness.

Mrs. Rhymer was born in Union, a daughter of the late Irving Newton and Melle Kelly Newton.

A graduate of Union High School, Mrs. Rhymer was a homemaker.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Kelly and husband Keith Svagr of Charlotte, NC; a son, Don and his wife Kate of La Canada CA; a sister, Pam Phipps and two brothers, Charles Newton and James Newton, all of Union; five grandchildren, Andrew, Molly and Carrie Rhymer and Kaitlyn and Kendall Svagr.

She was predeceased by a brother Thomas Newton.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Union Memorial Gardens, conducted by Rev. Robert Branch.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

The family is at the home of her sister, Pam Phipps, 212 North Mountain St. Union, SC.
