LOCKHART — Mrs. Espy McMahan Carter, age 77, widow of James W. Carter formerly of Lockhart passed away, Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Carter was born in Lockhart, October 26, 1932, a daughter of the late Earl and Mary Vance McMahan. She was formerly employed with Milliken Co., Lockhart Plant and was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a son : Kevin Carter of Lockhart, a granddaughter: Stephanie Stephenson Inglett of Union; a great-granddaughter: Rileigh Inglett; two nieces: Kimberly Fowler and Cindy Johnson; two great-nephews: Chase Fowler and Dillon Johnson and a great-niece: Ashley Fowler. Mrs. Carter was predeceased by a sister: Faye "Doodle" Marie.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 Saturday, June 13, 2010 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Gary Byrd. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church.

The family is at the home of her son, Kevin Carter, 328 North 2^nd St., Lockhart, SC.
