Saturday, May 24

8 a.m.-Noon: Life Changing Ministries, 501 Hart St., Union, holds a giveaway of men’s, women’s, and children’s clothes, shoes, coats, suits, as well as women’s pocketbooks. All items are free.

4 p.m.: Living Faith Ministries Men of Praise are celebrating their 2nd Anniversary. The church is located on the Cross Keys Highway. Everyone is welcome.

Saturday, May 24-Sunday, May 25

5 p.m. and 2 p.m.: Bethesda Baptist Church in Santuc hosts The Voice of Faith Gospel Chorus Anniversary Celebration at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 24 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 25.

2-5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 a.m.: Covenant Baptist Church sells hot dog plates from 2-5 p.m. Saturday. The money will go for its mission trip to Haiti. There will be a singing with Quinton Mills at 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday. Heath Walker will be singing Saturday also. This is a Love Offering Concert.

Sunday, May 25

11 a.m.: Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church holds a Youth Service. Dress casual. Hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, chips, and drinks will be serve after the service along with homemade ice cream. There will be blow-up slides and other fun games for children. All members of the community who don’t have a church family are invited to attend.

2 p.m.: The Stewards and Members of Jeter’s Chapel AME Church sponsors a fashion show featuring a Parade of Women and Men’s Hats and Suits. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Barbara McGlinton, Pastor of Old Hope Station Baptist Church, Blair, South Carolina. Rev. Anthony Washington, Pastor.

2 p.m.: The Kingdom Hearts Ministry of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church cordially invites you and your congregation to their 3rd annual conference. The speakers will be Minister Kim Glenn, Sister Aldonza Thomas, Sister Debra Allen, Sister Jocelyn Peak, Sister Catherine Moore, Sister Christiana McKissick, and Minister Janie Gist. Sunday’s attire is Black and Aqua. If you cannot attend, please pray for us and with us that God will continue to be in the midst.

2 p.m.: Woodson Chapel Baptist Church holds their Pack the Pew Annual Program. Rev. James W. Smith, Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Pauline, will be guest speaker. The public is invited to attend. Rev. Robert E. Collins, Pastor.

2:30 p.m.: McBeth Baptist Church invites you to attend a service to honor our Pastor Rev. Freddie L. Wicker, Jr., and 1st Lady on their 10th Pastoral Anniversary. The preacher for the occasion is the former Pastor of Mt. Rowell Baptist Church, Rev. Kevin Russell Sheppard. The public is invited.

2:30 p.m.: The Missionary Auxiliary of St. Luke Baptist Church observes Women’s Day. The theme will be “Breaking The Chains.” Guest Messenger, Mrs. Audrey Hailstock, New Day Baptist Church, Spartanburg, SC. Dinner will be served following the service.

2:30 p.m.: New Hope AME Zion Church’s Walkers All-Male Chorus celebrates their 37th anniversary. All are invited.

Saturday, May 31

11 a.m.-1 p.m.: VBS Kickoff at Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church. Games and activities for kids. The kids will also get to participate in a scavenger hunt. Fun for all kids registering for Vacation Bible School.

Sunday, June 1

10:30 a.m.: Bethesda Baptist Church, Whitmire, SC will honor former pastor, Rev. Austin Bennett, for his 50 years as an ordained Southern Baptist minister of the Gospel. All family and friends of Rev. Bennett are invited to attend a celebration meal that will be served following the recognition service. 2:30 p.m.: The Praise Dance Ministry of McBeth Baptist Church holds their 1st Praise Dance Anniversary.

2:30 p.m.: Wyatt’s Chapel Baptist Church celebrates its Usher’s Anniversary. Rev. James Mason, Pastor of New Emanuel Church, will be the speaker.

3 p.m.: The Red Hill Baptist Church holds its Family and Friends Day. The speaker will be the Rev. Jefferson McDowell, pastor of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Laurens, SC. We welcome our families, friends and the public to share in these services with us.

6-8:30 p.m.: Calling all Agency D3 special agents! Your mission should you choose to accept it… is to join us for Vacation Bible School this summer at Tabernacle Baptist Church as we “Discover, Decide, and Defend” the truth about Jesus! Your mission begins Sunday, June 1 through Thursday, June 5 from 6-8:30 p.m. Ages are preschool 3 & 4; kindergarten 5 & 6 year olds; 1st & 2nd grade; 3rd, 4th & 5th grade; youth and adults. 6-8 p.m.: Outreach Deliverance Church hosts the “International Spy Academy” Vacation Bible School. It will be held in the ODC’s Gymnasium at 4317 King-Kennedy St., Carlisle. Your child will be filled with excitement and most importantly, he/she will be encouraged to learn, know, love, and live for the one true God as they enjoy songs, crafts, games, goodies, and dramas. Ongoing Events

The Union Moms In Prayer group meets each Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Family Life Center of Bethel United Methodist Church, 1705 Lockhart Highway, Union, S.C. This is an informal gathering of moms, grandmothers, and any other interested ladies who would like to be a part of this important ministry of praying for the students, teachers, and staff of our schools. There is also opportunity, for those who wish, to ask prayer for specific individuals. All ladies are welcome to participate. Crestview Baptist Church, 1100 Furman Fendley Highway, Union, holds Celebrate Recovery every Friday night. The meal is served at 6 p.m. and worship is at 7 p.m. For more information call 864-466-6659.

Mitchell Chapel Christian Church, 381 Kelly Road in Union, holds services at its new location, 143 Camelot Drive in Union.

The Missionary Auxiliary of the Pacolet River Baptist Association has an Emergency Food Pantry in the rear (annex) of the town hall in Jonesville. The pantry is open Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon and other times by calling the numbers posted on the sign at the entrance of the annex. Bring identification and proof residence.
