UNION — For the third time in two weeks the SCWorks Union office will be the site of a job recruitment event.
Express Employment Professionals will hold the job recruitment event at the SCWorks office at 103 W. Main St., Union, on Wednesday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
The company is recruiting for a variety of manufacturing, forklift, and administrative positions in the Union and Spartanburg area.
All positions require completion of drug screening and criminal background checks. Other screenings may vary.
Persons seeking to apply for the positions must register with www.scworks.org prior to the event.
Wednesday’s job recruitment event will be the third to take place at the SCWorks Union office since April 24.
The first event was conducted by the Spartanburg branch of the Talent Force staffing agency which was looking to hire workers to fill general warehouse positions that pay $9.50 to $10.50 an hour. At least 20 of the more than 50 people who put in applications at the event had been hired as of April 28 and it was possible that even more would be hired.
For those that didn’t make it to that event but were still interested in those warehouse positions, they could call the Spartanburg office of Talent Force at 864-641-1130.
The second event, which was held April 30, was conducted by the SC Department of Corrections to fill corrections officers positions at Tyger River Correctional Facility which pay $25,060 and up. Of the seven persons who applied at the event, the majority moved on to the background check phase of the hiring process. If they passed that phase, they will then be recommended for a follow-up interview at the SC Department of Corrections in Columbia.
Persons who are interested in working at Tyger River Correctional Facility can pick up applications at the SCWorks Union office or at the facility itself off SC 56 on 100 Prison Road in Enoree.
