What about this weather, it’s Wednesday right now, don’t know what is happening Friday while you’re reading this. Every day changes, and today it’s upper 80’s. Yeah!! But when you leave the house you really don’t know what to put on. Do what I do, wear layers, and then you can start stripping and when night comes do the opposite cause it’s been cooling off at night.
I just heard that Joyce Grady Moody passed away from her battle with cancer. My sincere sympathy goes out to her family.
Rev. Jessie Bentley’s funeral should be Saturday. I haven’t heard the time yet, but it should be in the paper by now. He was such a dear man, and will be missed. My sympathy to the Bentley family, also.
Jacob’s Well is our Mission here in Lockhart, it is located at the old Hope Hospital, and they will be having their second annual “Down By The River” festival on Saturday, April 26. If you are a vendor of any sort — I mean food or wares — and want to participate, contact Ailene at 545-2103 or 251-3883, and she can give you a contact number to set you up.
I want to thank Jenny Ward, from Myrtle Beach, for sending me a check so I can purchase Ensure for Robert. I will pick some up tonight while I am in Spartanburg and deliver it tomorrow.
They have now pulled all his teeth, because with some bone and tongue missing they are growing inward Chemo starts on the 7th and it’s pure Ensure or Boost that he can have. Keep you posted.

Happy Birthday to all of you and hope you all have a very good day.
The 5th are Steve and Sheila Robinson; 6th, Buster and Hilda Hefner; and also on the 6th are Brad and Cindy James.
Saturday night Chuck and I went to Chester to the Cove, ordered a small order of Alaskan While and Jessica Garcia (our waitress from Lockhart) brought us the senior plate, what does that tell us? We didn’t even have to ask she knew we were OLD. Anyway the food is good there.
Well afterward I needed to go to Walmart, but I opened my big mouth and mentioned that Chester has a new Tractor Supply, down where the old Walmart used to be, and guess where we went next. Let me tell you guys, this place is huge. They told us it was the biggest and this is how they are going to make all of them.
Well Chuck saw something he really wanted to buy, so let’s see. If he’s waiting on me, well let me just say his birthday just passed and Father’s Day is a long way off. I’m just teasing about Chuck, he’ll get it.
If I don’t charge the battery for my lawn mower, you won’t be able to see me once I come off my steps. I have next Monday off so let’s see if anyone wants me for something else. I need a twin.
Did you notice all the pollen on the cars this morning? Everyone’s allergies are going to start up now. I should have rinsed it off the car while I had it out, just another job to add to me.
What about all this insurance changes?!! I’ve been since January trying to get an override on some migraine meds.
Now it’s been two weeks for Enbrel for RA and all the pharmacy needs is for the doctor’s office to call the insurance office. I called the insurance myself and they said they are just waiting for the doctor.
We pay the doctor’s enough I think just to have a nurse to do the calling for them.
This is so frustrating. And I don’t think it’s going to get any better, not just for my family but for everyone.
Good news, the fishing hole is now opened, people are gathering on the race bank with their lawn chairs and fishing poles.
Come to Lockhart for the fishing, and then if you get hungry you can go to the Lockhart Cafe and get the famous Broad Burger. They are closed on Monday.
Oh, and I think fishing bait is being sold at the new gun shop on Jonesville Lockhart Highway# 9 going by the Hot Spot.
The Hot Spot has a new name but I can’t think of it right now.
I don’t want to say we eat out a lot, but I’ve noticed that lately when I call my kids for dinner, they run to the car.
Why is there a date on sour cream? Bacon was definitely the first-round draft pick in the BLT. No one’s building a sandwich around lettuce.
When a family friend passed away, my granddaughter took her three-year-old son to visit the widow.
As they approached the front door, she whispered to the boy, “Make sure to tell her how sorry you are.”
He whispered back, “Why? I didn’t kill him.”
Well it’s time for me to close, so good night and call me at 864-545-6652. Thank you for the calls I’ve received from all over the USA.
