Economic Development Board

This Saturday is The Town Clean Up Day at 9 a.m. Various areas of Whitmire will receive beautification, including the fountain at the l ibrary, parts of Broome and Satterwhite Street.

The Health Fitness Walk is scheduled for Saturday, April 5. Various routes for different levels of fitness are planned. Former Whitmire resident Haskell Walker will be leading the walk, along with running enthusiast Major/Pastor Todd Johnson.

Tourism And Blues

Toursim and Blues music are the hot discussion around our communities like Winnsboro, Whitmire and Chester. The Economic Development Board members have partnered with Chester to host a giant yard sale, and host concerts within the three areas. Chester and Winnsboro are also part of the Old English Tourism District. The three towns are within 30 minutes driving between them and are in various areas of Sumter National Forest.

Allrighty readers, a busy town Whitmire has become in the last year. Feel free to send your newsbit and photos of your civic church group activities and events to: news2cassie@yahoo.com
