UNION COUNTY — Union County Councilmember Joan Little says she will seek a third term representing District 1.
Little, who has served on council for the past eight years, issued a statement Friday afternoon announcing her plans to seek reelection.
“I announce that I am running for re-election to County Council District 1,” Little said. “I have enjoyed serving this district and we have faced and met many challenges in our county.”
Little pointed to the economic success the county has experienced in recent years and said if reelected she would work with other officials to continue that success and further improve the community.
“Our economic development efforts are seeing great benefits for our local workforce, but there’s more work to be done,” Little said. “If I’m re-elected I will continue to be available to my constituents and will continue to work with all leaders who work to make our country a better place to live and work.”
Little asked the people of Distict 1 to give her the opportunity to continue to represent them on council.
“I’m asking the people in Union County Council Distict 1 to allow me to continue to serve as their council member for the next four years,” Little said.
A Democrat, Little is the first candidate to announce for the District 1 seat.
