We are working on getting a grant to put in new sewage lines from Mill Street to the south side of town. So for the next week or so, we (the Mayor and Council) will be coming around to have you fill out a paper: Community Development Block Grant Town of Lockhart Income Survey, so the town can qualify for a grant to have this done. This is based on your income. We’ll explain it when we come around.
Or, if you are around Town Hall Monday through Thursday, come in and fill one out (just in case we miss you). We did this when we did the north side last summer.
Let’s talk about all the talented artists we have in this town. What satisfaction is there if you don’t sign your name on your artwork? I’m talking about the paintings on the walls and signs of Lockhart Power Co.
Oh, I’m probably talking to the air, because whoever defaced the property doesn’t read, or do anything intelligent, because they’re too busy thinking what else they can tear up. Like cutting the wires to Christmas lights in yards and the parking lot at Christmas. Trying to tear up the swings and ark in the playground, also.
Please go up the hill to Jacob’s Well and get your GED, so you can get a job, and be proud of something good instead of looking like a B.A. to your so called friends.
Remember In Prayer
Tinsee wants special prayer for her sister Nancy Hope, she’s not well. Pray for little Justin Childers who was just moved from Chester Hospital to Richland.
Well winter has struck again, but the snow predicted missed us this time. But the chill goes right through you, when you step outside. Oh wait! It may be summer tomorrow. That’s why everyone has the krupe!
Sammy Baines had a birthday, Feb. 27, and so did Candi Houghton. Chuck Montgomery has one on the 28th. Happy Birthday to you all.
So I finally got on Facebook, because I wanted to catch up with my cousins’ lives, and so I put in my grandparents’ last name, and find out it’s a closed group, and you have to request to join. It was easier to be born into this family than to join it!! Now I don’t have the hang of it yet, but I’ll get there, so have patience with me (friends).
A couple of my customers donated unused Boost and Ensure to me for a gentleman with no income and is on a feeding tube. He had cancer surgery a few weeks ago and they removed part of his tongue and jaw. So he is pureeing his food, but the Ensure and Boost will give him the energy he needs to get well.
So I’m asking you that if you have anything like this left over and don’t know what to do with it, would you please bring it to my shop at 411 Lockhart Drive to help him out. Thank you.
I’m also starting my Christmas basket for Hospice. Aren’t I the little beggar?
My husband and I couldn’t decide which jacket to buy our granddaughter, so we asked the young salesman.
“If you were buying a jacket for your girlfriend,” I said, “what would you get?”
“A bulletproof one,” he said, “I’m married.”
Well it’s that time again, so I’ll say good night. Call at 864-545-6652.
