Saturday, Jan. 25

7 p.m.: Lockhart Methodist Church is bringing back Hissong group. This will be a love offering concert and we want to invite everyone to come out and enjoy good gospel singing.

Sunday, Jan. 26

2:30 p.m.: The Galilee Baptist Church in the Sedalia Community will have an appreciation program to celebrate the 24 years of service their pastor, Rev. Malachi Rodgers Sr., has given. The program will be held at 2:30 p.m. The sermon will be delivered by Rev. James Tillison, pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church, Kelton, S.C. The public is invited.

2:30 p.m.: The Mitchell Chapel Christian Church Men’s Ministry holds a “Gathering of the Men” Program. The Rev. W.E. Smith of Foster Chapel Church will be the speaker. Rev. Tony and LaQuita Griffin are the pastors of Mitchell Chapel Christian Church.

Friday, Jan. 31

11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Hebron Baptist Church, Whitmire Highway, holds a Soup and Sandwich Meal. The price is $6 per meal. We will deliver for a minimum of 10 orders. Customers can choose a pint of soup from among the following options including vegetable beef, potato, potato with sausage, and chicken stew. The meal includes a sandwich. The choice of sandwiches include pimento cheese, chicken salad, and egg salad. Customers can choose cornbread or crackers. Coke, Diet Coke or Sprite are the drink selections. All proceeds will go toward the church’s mission trip to Nicaragua.

Monday, Jan. 27-Friday, Jan. 31

7 p.m.: Bountiful Blessings Church, 110 Peake Road, Roebuck, S.C., 29376, presents a 2014 Rhema Word In House Revival. Monday, Jan. 27, the revival speaker will be Elder Elect Barry Barksdale. Tuesday, Jan. 28, the revival speaker will be Minister Barbara Sampson. Wednesday, Jan. 29, the revival speaker will be Minister Eric Talley, formerly a resident of Union County. Thursday, Jan. 30, the revival speaker will be Minister Sherry Dodd. Friday, Jan. 31, the revival speaker will be Elder Sandra Branch. Sunday, Feb. 2

2:30 p.m.: Bethesda Baptist Church, Santuc, celebrates its 124th Church Anniversary with the Rev. Michael Glenn, Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church of Spartanburg, along with his congregation. Rev. Roderick Olgesby, Pastor.

Tuesday, Feb. 4

10 a.m.: First Baptist Church, 405 E. Main St., Union, holds its next Food Pantry in the Christian Family Life Center and its next Clothes Closet in the church basement. Persons seeking assistance from the Food Pantry should be in line no later than 9 a.m. as the line usually begins forming by 7 a.m. A picture ID is required.

Wednesday, Feb. 5

5:30 p.m.: The Laura Farr Sunday school class of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 573 Wesley Chapel Road, will have their Poor Man’s Supper. Menu will include spaghetti, salad, garlic bread and sweet tea. Desserts will be extra. Guest singers will be Kellie Allen and Patty Turner, singing starts at 6:15 pm. Proceeds to benefit the youth of Wesley Chapel. Take outs call 427-5319. Everyone is invited and everyone is welcomed.

Sunday, Feb. 9

Noon-Until: Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 1622 Kelly Road, Union, serves Sunday Dinner. The menu includes fried chicken, roast beef, steak and gravy, creamed potatoes, rice and gravy, macaroni pie, green beans, lima beans, slaw, rolls, tea, and dessert. The cost is $8 per person. Call 427-1622 for takeouts which will be ready at 11:45 a.m.

Ongoing Events

The Union Moms In Prayer group meets each Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Family Life Center of Bethel United Methodist Church, 1705 Lockhart Highway, Union, S.C. This is an informal gathering of moms, grandmothers, and any other interested ladies who would like to be a part of this important ministry of praying for the students, teachers, and staff of our schools. There is also opportunity, for those who wish, to ask prayer for specific individuals. All ladies are welcome to participate. Crestview Baptist Church, 1100 Furman Fendley Highway, Union, holds Celebrate Recovery every Friday night. The meal is served at 6 p.m. and worship is at 7 p.m. For more information call 864-466-6659.

Mitchell Chapel Christian Church, 381 Kelly Road in Union, holds services at its new location, 143 Camelot Drive in Union.

The Missionary Auxiliary of the Pacolet River Baptist Association has an Emergency Food Pantry in the rear (annex) of the town hall in Jonesville. The pantry is open Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon and other times by calling the numbers posted on the sign at the entrance of the annex. Bring identification and proof residence.

New Emanuel Chapel Baptist Church has changed its services times to 9 a.m. for Sunday School and 10 a.m. for Praise and Worship.

Woodson Chapel Baptist Church has changed its services to 9 a.m. for Sunday School and 10 a.m. for Worship.
