6 p.m.-Midnight: Jonesville Baptist Church hosts a Watch Night Service featuring the John River’s Quartet. The evening will begin with a chicken stew supper at 6 p.m. and will conclude at midnight. Gospel singing will take place between 8:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The church is located at 301 Church St., Jonesville. For more information please contact the church office at 864-674-5367.
7 p.m.: Rev. J. Archie Calhoun, Pastor of Corinth Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker for the New Year’s Eve service at Gethsemane Baptist Church Church in Pacolet.
10 p.m.: Joint “Watch-Night Services” will be held at The Macedonia Christian Church, Cross Keys community. Rev. Crommer is the host pastor. Sermon will be delivered by Rev. McCory, pastor of The New Hope AME Zion Church. The public is invited.

Noon: Fairforest Baptist Church, 1917 Jonesville Highway, Union, will serve up some Old Fashioned Southern Fried Home Cooking. Each plate will have a one meat, three sides, dessert, and a drink. The meats are fried chicken and meat loaf. The sides are mac and cheese, rice and gravy, green beans, potato salad, pinto beans, and cabbage. Adults dine for $8 and children ages 3 and up dine for $4 while those under the age of 3 dine for free. 5:30 p.m.: The Laura Farr Sunday School Class of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 373 Wesley Chapel Road, holds its annual Poor Man’s Supper. The menu consists of vegetable soup, sandwiches, cornbread, and tea. Desserts extra. Takeouts call 427-5319. The supper will benefit Joyce Moody. Singing starts at 6:15 p.m. with performances by The Childers. Everyone is invited and welcome.
The Union Moms In Prayer group meets each Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Family Life Center of Bethel United Methodist Church, 1705 Lockhart Highway, Union, S.C. This is an informal gathering of moms, grandmothers, and any other interested ladies who would like to be a part of this important ministry of praying for the students, teachers, and staff of our schools. There is also opportunity, for those who wish, to ask prayer for specific individuals. All ladies are welcome to participate. The Missionary Auxiliary of the Pacolet River Baptist Association has an Emergency Food Pantry in the rear (annex) of the town hall in Jonesville. The pantry is open Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon and other times by calling the numbers posted on the sign at the entrance of the annex. Bring identification and proof residence.

Woodson Chapel Baptist Church has changed its services to 9 a.m. for Sunday School and 10 a.m. for Worship.
