UNION — The Sims Middle School boys basketball team lost to Rainbow Lake 36-25 at home on Wednesday.
Sims’ Coach Darryl Phillips called it a good game.
“Both teams were even in abilities and it came down to who performed the basics of the sport in the end,” Phillips said. “We missed too many layups — and nine free throws — which made the difference in victory and defeat.”
Sims scorers included Kenneth Tucker, Jr. with 12 points, Desman Kershaw with six points, Tyus Savage with three points, and Quadrik Smith and Syric Hampton with two points each.
“Sims played well at times but must develop consistency throughout a entire game,” Phillips said. “We still have a long season ahead of us but I do see improvement.”
