Lockhart Middle School

The Lockhart Middle School boys basketball team defeated Blacksburg Middle School 46-37.

“LMS moved to 5-0 on the season, thanks to some tough defense and some timely shooting,” said Coach Thomas Parks.

Leading scorers for the game were Zack Gordon (18 points), Dalton Vinson (11 points), Morgan Foster (6 points), Trey Parks (4 points), Michael Purdie (4 points), and Anthony McClaren (3 points).

Sims Middle School

The Sims Middle School boys basketball team was defeated by Carver Middle School 73-11.

“We showed up at Carver Middle School, but didn’t show up to play,” said Coach Darryl Phillips, who commented that his team shot poorly from the floor and the free throw line. “I’ll take some of the responsibility for that outcome. The players must get tough and play hard and hustle, which would help change some of the outcome of the game.”

Scorers for Sims were Daeandrell Davis with four points, and Caleb Vanderford, Tyus Savage and Rashaun Woodard with two points each.
