UNION — A singer who has been featured on “American Idol” and CMT’s “Can You Duet” will perform at Brown’s Creek Baptist Church this Sunday.

Nashville resident Nathan Herron travels the U.S. in full-time ministry. After leading worship at his home church, Nathan began a traveling music evangelism after participating as one of 20 male finalists on Season 4 of “American Idol,” which was won by Carrie Underwood. From there, Herron went on to become one of eight finalists on CMT’s “Can You Duet” in 2008. His popularity continued to grow, and he then made music his full-time career.

Herron and his wife currently travel to churches, youth camps, high schools, colleges and prisons in scripture testimony and song in hopes of furthering God’s Kingdom.

“As of now, we’re just trusting that God will give us the guidance; we pray for His guidance every day for every decision we make,” Herron said in an interview last year. “Whether we reach the masses one day, or whether we settle into our own little church, we’re happy just doing God’s will.”

Herron will perform at 6 p.m. this Sunday, Dec. 8, at Brown’s Creek Baptist Church in Union. The performance is open to the public, and a love offering will be taken.
