UNION — Beginning this weekend, Downtown Union will be treated to terrifying Halloween fun.

The House of Horror, located at 215 E. Main St., Union, will open at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and it will run each Friday and Saturday in October. During the week of Halloween, the House of Horror will be open Wednesday, Oct. 30, through Saturday, Nov. 2.

Easley residents Jason and Candie Nash enjoy Halloween. Jason has created his own haunted house or trail for the past nine years. He began with an area of woods near his home, and expanded to a full-blown haunted trail. This year, he decided to start a new project in Union.

“I just enjoy it — I have fun scaring people,” Jason laughed. “It’s a pretty good business.”

Jason refused to give away much information about what awaits inside the House of Horror, but he did say it is eight rooms of nightmarish, nail-biting fright. He also hinted that the brave souls who enter should be on the lookout for familiar faces such as Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers, as well as the House of Horrors’ mysterious Scarecrow Room.

The concession stand at the House of Horror will benefit the Philippi Fire Department.
