UNION — Musicians, artisans, vendors, mechanical rides and inflatables, and a line of military and first responder vehicles filled Main Street in downtown Union Friday as part of the 2013 Uniquely Union Festival.
From the Union County County Courthouse to USC Union, Main Street was closed to traffic Friday for the festival which provides local residents, visitors and tourists the opportunity to dine on the food provided by a variety of vendors along the street and on the USC Union campus. Other vendors provided festival-goers with the opportunity to buy any all merchandise that caught their eye.
Music was also a big part of the day with singers, bands, and DJs along the street and on the stage near the USC Union gazebo providing the festival with its soundtrack. Other arts were also on display on the block where the Union County Arts Council is located as artisans displayed their wares to the public.
For the children, there were inflatables and mechanical rides which made the day really fun.
The fun’s not over, either. Uniquely Union continues today with activities beginning this morning and continuing into the evening including the traditional barbecue competition.
