The job offered is for a skilled farmworker and requires minimum 1 month verifiable work experience in the crop activities listed. The minimum offered wage rate that workers will be paid is $9.87 per hour. Workers must commit to work the entire contract period. Workers are guaranteed work for 3/4 of the contract period, beginning with the first day the worker arrives at the place of employment. Amigo Forestry Service, Inc., Russellville, AR, is now hiring 45 temporary Tree Planters to work in various counties in FL, GA, SC, NC, TN & VA from 10/1/2014 to 7/20/2015. Manual itinerant work hand tree seedling planting, pre-commercial thinning and herbicide and insecticide application to reforest and maintain timberlands. Requires physical stamina. Extensive walking over rough terrain. Work is in adverse weather. Must lift and carry 50 lbs. Drug free workplace. No education or experience required. Overnight travel required. Workers must arrive at first worksite at own expense. Workers pay own room and board. Non-local employees are reimbursed the reasonable costs incurred for inbound transportation to the first worksite in the first work week. Optional transportation provided to daily worksites from a central location at a cost of $35 per week per worker. Elected daily transportation will be payroll deducted. Employer provides transportation between worksites. Employer provides all tools and safety gear at no cost. Overtime may be offered and, if worked, will be paid at time and one half the regular hourly rate. Production standard of 2000 trees correctly planted per 8 hour day after one week of training.
